Our Stick insects are growing fast!

We now have seven stick insects (Carausius morosus) in Year 1! They started off in early June very small in size, just about one centimetre in length. The oldest stick insect is now approaching 7cm in length so they have grown very quickly. Below you can see a newly hatched stick insect, the egg which is still attached to one of it's feet is the size of a small peppercorn.



We can see looking at the picture below, taken on the 4th of July (lets hope it doesn't escape) just how much they have grown!
